Hi there ,

I want to learn is there such a thing like soft base , non glass , autochrome film like modern films in the history ?

Thank you ,

Yes there was a film version of Autochrome sold as Lumicolor (roll film) and Filmcolor (sheet film). The Lumiere company said it was an adaptation of the Autochrome process for high speed hand held use, still rather slow by modern terms. It was available in the mid to late 1930's, I have their advert in front of me right now :D

Ian , Good morning to you , Did Lumiere use starch grains for these films or what was the technology ?

polachrome instant 35mm and the Polaroid 691 was also in a loose sense working on autochrome principle.

Mustafa, this was already discussed in one of your threads:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

(So it's not only me whose memory fails...)

And when even referring to Lumiere Alticolor whith its novel grains, we should not forget Agfacolor "old" which also employed a random additive screen coated on film.

As I indicated before I doubt that all images designated as being Autochrome are actually Autochrome...
