Worth spending time on their website. Some absolutely fantastic images. This is documentary photography at its best

Description from the website:

Noga Creative Union was founded on December 12, 2005 to serve as a Association of Independent Documentary Photographers. Currently 24 photographers are full members in the alliance.

The purpose of this union is to collect photographic stories, taken in different parts of the world, while preserving the right of each author to express personal vision on any of the chosen topics.

Activity of this group is focused on research, archival and bearing witness to the events and their causes, while at the same time paying special attention to high aesthetic and informative quality of the imagery. Additionally, this collaboration promotes exchange of ideas, opinions, and personal view points between photographers.

Existence of this union is not limited to distribution of its news in the virtual world. It extends to the wide range of regional and worldwide events in the form of personal or group exhibits.

From what I have seen so far all the photos are b&w. Is the whole site dedicated solely to b&w and were all shots taken on film? In fact is it a requirement for entry to be a film photographer?

Thanks

Yes, being a film photographer is required, and so is using a Pentax camera.

Joking aside, some look like they were shot on film, others are definitely digital.

There is some colour work:

Site says there are presently 24 members, but has no info on how one becomes a member. They're obviously looking for good visual storytellers, I doubt the medium — film or digital — matters.

The works by Pavlos Kozalidis are all shot on film; those by Emil Gataullin also appear to be film. Ragnar Axelsson switched to digital a while ago, and Paulo Nunes' portfolios are digital as well, etc.
