No more Fuji Acros100 and Neopan Presto400 in 120 in Japan

Neopan may or may not have been discontinued, but Fuji's word is worthless. The way Fuji "communicates" is thru suppliers posting things like "No longer available" or "Discontinued" on their websites.

The Acros100 and the Presto400 in 135-36 will stay, So for 35mm shooters, there's no problem. But the 120, with Fuji's lazy corporate-ass attitude, we are confused.

Fuji should release a statement about what the hell is going on with those films.

Seriously, I doubt that Fuji will drop it's only B&W 120 film...

And there is been so much things going on... T64 status is fuzzy, 800z was witdrawed, then they changed their minds. All the fuss about the Instant Packfilm discontinuation.

It's all about the checks and balances.... If it's not gonna fly financially for them, why should they continue with it?? With all the F.U.D flying around, why don't we wait and see what happens?? Freestyle says their next shipment is due in Feb 11th. Other places still have it also. If it goes to 5 packs.... I'll certainly be happier. It never made sense all that wasted packing effort for single rolls. Use what yer got, order more..... If it's gone, it's gone.... Move along and use another film!!!

Some suppliers in the US have been out of stock on 400PR as well. Here's the thing - it's a much better sign that people are *waiting* for shipments to come in rather than not waiting. It's usually a sign of demand.

Corporate fuji is really rusted. Atleast here in India they dont respond to market as fast as people demand. I sent them a mail and they never responded back.

I guess we can only blame ourselves. Collectively we have not been buying enough so that it makes sense for Fuji to keep them in production. Neopan 400 in 120 has been my main film for many years and I only used other films/formats occasionally. So it is going to hurt. Now I have to make up my mind quickly whether to stock up enough to last for a few years. Any idea how well Neopan 400 keeps?

I think the corporate giants are run by bean counters and that's all they care about...I was in B+H a few weeks ago and no acros in 120 size...that's means no one is buying it right?? Baloney!! and I was back there last week and it was back in stock....people go and buy film and use it! I stock up but I still burn it anyway....these are excellant films and we cannot afford to lose them

I don't know the prices overseas, but Fuji & Kodak B&W film are similarly priced in Japan.

Acros, Presto, Plus-X and Tri-X in 120 format are all about 300 yen (give or take 10 to 30 yen.) I'm not sure of TMAX, but I think it's about the same price.

That leaves only Delta 100 and TMAX 100 for low-speed 120 film

Really strange that it would leave Japan first. I'm not sure that a LITTLE panic isn't in order...after all, they discontinued Reala in 120 in the US without any big announcement.

Sorry for the slight tangent, but does the (*1) next to Reala mean the same thing here (discontinued at this time)? What are the differences between the three rows of 135-36, since one also has a (*1) next to it?

The first one is single rolls, the next is 3-packs, and last is 5-packs (which is the one being discontinued - as is the single roll of 24). So they're not really discontinuing the films, just the different types of packaging (at least, for now).

We don't know yet - but firecracker is on a mission to let us know of 400PRs apparent demise. For now I'm just shooting it as usual. If it goes entirely I, and many others, definitely won't be happy about it.

I just tried Acros 100 35mm and it is really amazing. It is the first 35mm film I've tried since getting back into shooting B&W that I've been really happy with, though I'm pretty sure the development method I used had something to do with it (Rodinal 1:100 Stand Develop).

I bought 4 rolls of 120 yesterday for my wife and I to shoot, and I'm hoping to run through one roll in my Hasselblad today. If we like this as much as I think we will, I'm glad Fuji will be selling it in 5-packs, as I'll be buying a lot!

Acros is an extremely high quality film. I don't care for it's curve though (bland, honestly). However, that part is easy to change via dev/print.
