I have joined Phototrio a couple of years ago. I suppose a decade ago members were saying 6MP was more than needed, and they now have 24MP cameras. It takes a while for attitudes to catch up with technology.

I am a bit surprised that on a photography site there are a Majority of them will never see one let alone use one. All that tells that they have probably lost interest , I would imagine if Brett Weston was alive he would be using one . Y/N ?

Bob, if you go to the GetDPI or Luminous Landscape discussion boards you'll find plenty of users of medium format digital equipment and see plenty of discussion about the new IQ4 series. Just not here.

Thanks for the links. I guess I need to expand my horizons. Photrio can sometimes be insular.

I have known about Luminous Landscape since its inception, but have decided to make Photrio (APUG) and Large Format Forum my home as both these sites have more in common with my history in photography.
Being part of three is too much. not to mention the FB groups I have joined.

My trio is Photrio, LFF and RFF. I follow about a dozen alt process FB groups.

Nothing wrong with that! For sure, there aren't enough hours in the day to see everything. My point was just that if you want to see discussion on medium format digital, you have to go to the places where the membership is active in it. That's all.

Same here although LFF is permanently read only for me, apparently I am on their most unwanted list.

As to the notion of buying a 150MP back, I blew my Phase One money on a darkroom in the past few years...;-)

TLDR: "It costs a lot, writer (who made no suggestion of having had their hands on it or similar resolution camera) complains that no one 'needs' that kind of resolution, then whines about the boxy design of the camera"
Not sure I would agree with the 'great' part of the rant description.
It's meant as satire.

I wonder if they will give me one for the exposure they will get from my raving about it on my blog? Heck I will even do an unboxing youtube!
i'd watch that .. but you are gonna have to wear a cat suit to get the clicks !

Less than 1% of professional photographers will either need or use these super hi rez backs. Certainly no one on Photrio.
im guessing there's nothing like a nice beefy file from 150mp back saved at 72dpi there's a lot of tonality beauty in an image like that
im currently scanning everything i do at 128000 to save for the web small, it makes a huge difference espeically
when i am look at it on my 6 year old iPhone ...
