Nikonos iii underwater use

The 35mm is the only Nikonos lens that you can use under and out of water.

The 80mm Nikonos lens can also be used under and out of water.

The 28mm Nikonos lenses are only to be used underwater, never out of water.

The 28mm f/3.5 UW-Nikkor can only be used underwater.

The 28mm f/2.8 LW-Nikkor can only be used above water.

Just got back from using my Nikonos in a snow storm; the perfect camera for those conditions. It was pretty wet when I got back home. I was not that keen on getting my brand new F6 wet.

Yes, great in rainstorms too. I've used mine while white water rafting, parasailing above water, and the beach, in surf, in the pool, dirty places, etc. It's a wonderful 35mm sharp lens and the whole camera is so protected but heavy. Makes a good paperweight in the wind too.
