I wonder if I can actuate the shutter on this camera without film? I would like to check out the camera functions. I know it's not a 35mm camera but I don't know where to post.

Film hasn't been made for it in 20 years, unfortunately.

Just checked on my Pronea S and, yes, you can. It needs two CR2 batteries.

As has been mentioned I think the last APS film was made around 2009, so expect to have to compensate
