I just got a Nikon F2A off fleabay and will flip my regular F2 with the DP-1 finder. I do however want to keep some of the lenses, actually only 2. I first thought I had to replace them but googled it and found some DIY conversions that I wasn't too keen on, I then I stumbled on a place selling conversion kits for $15. I ordered it two days ago together with some film and it turns out to be actual NOS Nikon conversion kits. It came in a sealed bag with what looks like an old faded original label. It even has mounting holes for the mouse ears. I'll dig out the small screw drivers tomorrow and see if this works.
as you have discovered, as long as they have the rabbit ears, the AI lenses will work on the DP-1 but the non-AI lenses will not work (well, not very well) with the DP-11.
Perhaps for the same reason people in 1977 who owned the F2 photomic upgrading to the F2 Photomic A and have their lenses modified (and if I remember right it was about $15).

Years ago I had 2 50mm 1.4 SC non AI lenses, I modified one to work with my FM by removing the ears and using a dremel tool cut a recess in the lens to match a AI lense of the same sixe. Still using it on my FM2n 30 yrs later
