Nikon N90S cable release equivalents?

Just getting back to the new to me Nikon N90S, I realized it needs a 10-pin dedicated cable release.

Stick to the recommended MC-20?
Any alternatives to the native part:?

- knock-offs?
- other technologies, like wireless?

To go wireless you'd have to move up to the N75

I remember in the 1980s I wanted the Rolleiflex IR remote release for my motor driven SL2000F, but it was almost $200!
Amazing that the remote (ML-L3) for the N75 was like 5 bucks.

Actually, it seems the N90 is compatible with the ML-3 remote.

I use simplest cable release by Newell (round plug, 10 pins) with F90 and F90x.
Model "RS3-N1 for Nikon"
