Ive got a parts drive and I’ve harvested my Sover gear now I’m ready for a replacement I suppose!

That is what it says, its in almost brand new condition, I used lightly in my previous life as a photographer, probably bought late 80's I used it on a Nikkmart, before the Autofocus stuff.

MD-3 is for the F-2.

MD-12 is for the FM/FE.

I don’t think they are interchangeable. But is your Md-12 is “bargain priced” send me a “conversation”!
