Thanks, guys - it was a fun day out.

Richard, I don't have thoughts of selling any time soon, but than I've said that about some gear I don't have anymore, so you never know....

I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be building one for a paying customer. While it all seemingly works fine, there are aspects of the build that are strictly functional and in some ways very much shortcuts to compensate for a lack of precision machine tools, and as a result, the completed package is not as well-finished as I would like. When I get myself a lathe and a drill press, well, that's a whole different story.

Well I'd certainly understand its a project lens and my expectations would be in line with all that you mention. Heck, it would be a 1-1 Kickstarter! He he.. Just would be fun. And your results look stupendous! Still interested if you ever decide to do another and want to work out a reasonable price for your time and effort and parts. In the meantime have fun with that next one, the M-60.

Doing that as a kickstarter would blow up the cost of those L35AF cameras, soon they would be known as the plastic Leica and $200 each.

Any they would take 3x longer than planned....

There's a reason I didn't announce what I was doing before I did it. My donor L35AF cost me $3.

To be fair, Nikon's own statement on that lens included flaws.

I'm not sure I understand - do you mean that Nikon mentioned the flaws in the lens design, or that their statement is flawed? And if the latter, in what way is it flawed?

Who cares? Your photos are proof it's wonderful.

I am sorry for my ambiguous wording.
Nikon mentioned the deficit of that lens.

Got it - thanks for the clarification.

I'll start a new thread for it when the time comes, but for now just a quick heads-up that the Praktica M60 lens is in the process of being hacked into a Leica Thread Mount. The camera's apart and the lens and mount are separated, I've got a new set of stepped drill bits, and I've built a jig for drilling the mount. It's going to be a very simple build, since there's no focus or aperture to worry about. Stay tuned....
