Nikon FE2 AI tab stuck - please help

Hi all, when using my Nikon fe2 I’ve discovered I can’t move the aperture past F. 2.8 because the ai tab won’t move. It’s completely stuck. Any idea on how to fix this? Think it could be some debris that’s made it jammed. Currently backpacking in Vietnam and unsure of if there’s any places to get it looked at professionally. Any help would be great - thanks!

You may be able to loosen the four screws that hold the lens mount flange on by a turn or two (don't take them fully out), and then wiggle the AI tab ring to see if that frees it up. Then retighten the screws. It may return to being stuck, but at least that would give you a chance of getting debris out.

If you take the lens mount flange fully off, there are some shim rings that have to go on in the right order and the AI ring has a spring that is a bit of a pain to get aligned correctly for reassembly, which is why I suggested loosening the screws only just enough to free the movement of the AI ring.

Did you try to attach non AI lens cause that is usually the cause to damage the ring. HCMC has tons of film shooter so I would be surprised if they don't have a store that can fix that.
You can also go to Binh Chanh in HCMC there's a hangout place called Analog House, the staffs or the people there may be able to help you.
