Wondering what screen folks recommend for manual focusing on an F6. For reference, mine came with an E type (grid lines).
Nikon made several manual focus screens for the F6. I have the standard screen which came with the camera - which actually I find excellent to manual focus - and the optional one with the diagonal split screen.
Check places like ebay, KEH etc for that. Don't mess around with screens that were not meant for the camera.
Thanks Huss. Some of those screens you can still buy new from B&H!
Do you prefer the standard screen over the split for manual focusing?
I use the Nikon "A-Type" split image screen and the DK-17M Magnifying eyepiece along with the DK-19 Rubber Eye cup on both of my F6's.

Screens A, J and L have splt screen (A and L ), or micro prisms (J). I use J, but it’s no way comparable with the screens for manual focus camera’s. The af spots make it hard to focus manually. Thank goodness there’s always auto focus![]()
I wear glasses so I’m not sure a magnifier would be a good idea. I’d like to be able to see the whole frameI use the Nikon "A-Type" split image screen and the DK-17M Magnifying eyepiece along with the DK-19 Rubber Eye cup on both of my F6's.
