You're not talking about the flip-up Ai tab? Asking since the only pin thingy around the mount--aside from the Ai tab--is the little pin that locks/unlocks the lens with the release button.
the de3 finders are bringing a good amount of money. You should be able to buy a body from KEH, less finder for little$
Keep your F3 for parts - as it won't bring much in need of repair. But, ask KEH what they will offer for it when buying a f3 from them. I use f3s and think they have the best finder in a film slr for the body size. The newer pro bodies usually came with a motor drive as part of the body. Many inders to choose from too.
