Greetings all. This is my first time using this website so please forgive me if I don't do something right. Just recently pulled out my Nikon f3 and put a new roll of film in it. The only thing is, when I press the illuminator button for the LCD screen, the shutter speeds that are being indicated disappear but the illuminator stays on. Has anyone ever experienced this issue before? If so can you please explain why this is happening and how I can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Start by installing new batteries. Use name brand not economy off brand.
Batteries can check OK with the battery check button on the camera or a volt meter but be inadequate to operate the camera.
To be completely honest that was the one thing I didn't try because I had just pulled it out thinking the batteries would still work, but that is clearly not the case. But now with new batteries, the problem is gone, thank you.
