Go leica, go rolleiflex, go mamiya 7, go bronica 645 rf, go konica hexar AF, go minox 35: they are quiet. No F line camera is silent. And you can always send it to CLA, it can silent things a bit.
Seems that your nikon f2´s suffered from heavy abuse or you just don´t like the camera, either case, just use another camera, i have one F, one F2 and one F3 and they are all good albeit a bit different: but they are all 35mm slr cameras and the procedure is the same on most cameras from most brands. Noise is a common thing in slr cameras, in excess it might be a problem but i never saw many problems in F2´s, one of the cameras i find more robust, ever...
