Nikon F2 compatible battery covers

I've been looking high and low for a battery cover from where I am (Malaysia), so ebay is automatically not an option due to the crazy shipping fee just for a small piece of metal. So I was thinking of getting a Nikkormat body as their battery covers look somewhat similar and they're a whole lot cheaper. But I was wondering if anyone who has both of these models could try if the Nikkormat battery covers fit the F2 with the light meter being able to work? Thanks in advance.

I only have a Nikkormat FT to compare with but the covers are different diameters, the F2 is the smaller.

I concur. The battery cover on my Nikkormat FTN definitely does not fit my Nikon F2.
