Just so people are aware, I ended up going for an EOS 30V aka Elan 7NE. I've been very very impressed by it, and it's made use of my 50mm lens I already had. It's turned out some excellent shots and am blown away by the level of tech it has! The meter is exceptional.
I've just bought a battery grip to go with it and see if that adds anything, however the seller of the grip has also sold me an EOS 30 aka Elan 7e for a bargain of £20.
My parents abandoned film in early 2000s when the first consumer grade Kodak digital came out (1.3MP from memory!), so I'm really enjoying learning about high spec these cameras got before stopping being made.
Im off to Cairngorms national park and the Isle of Skye in August for my honeymoon so I'm planning to use my 7NE for slide film, and the 7E for negative film (until the slide film has ran out, at which point I'll use my 7NE!).
