Does anyone know if the prism from a metered finder on a Nikon F will fit in the regular prism finder? I'm assuming not, or someone would already be cashing in...

Just to be sure there is the prism finder and the focusing screen. Both are separately removable and interchangeable with any other F in any combination.

I asked the same question here about a month ago, and was told that the glass prism in the metered "prism" is not the same as the plain "prism".
I was told that the glass from a Nikkormat FT would fit, though.
I am having a camera repair person swap glass prisms between two meterless "prisms"...the glass in one "prism" has a chip, but is in an EX+ housing, the other has EX+ glass in an UG housing.

My bad, I was thinking prism as the whole assembled prism finder and not just the prism in the finder.

Have the repair person succeeded in doing the swap? And do you happen to know if is it only FT prisms or if FTn prisms would also fit?

Been busy at work, haven't sent prisms in yet...I've only received confirmation that they're willing to do the job.
Will update when completed.
