A happy new year, for all you forum guys.

I have an issue right ahead, my D700 does have some ~40k actuations onto the shutter, i've seen that the shutter mechanism is fine,
no bent metal pane blades, etc. But unfortunately, my mirror is stuck up. It doesn't come down. When i press the DoF preview button -
i do see a image via OVF for a split sec, by design, then the mirror is all up, and doesn't come down again, as it usually does.

How to fix that issue? My D700 does look like new, i'd say 97-99% new, can't see any scratches, dings or dents, on the whole body.
It's such a shame, i don't want to waste this old friend.

Greetings.

@Mods - please move this to the matching area, i couldn't find a digital repair forum, only analog here...
