Somebody has offered me one of these for around 10. I'm aware that this model is absolutely ancient, so is it worth it? Realistically, how well will it perform?

Thanks

Hi

it performs about as well as my Epson 4870 in detail. Perhaps a wee bit better. I has no ice and as far as I'm aware only does 8bits per channel. I still have mine but don't use it. Be aware you'll have difficulty it to work on most modern OS's and it is SCSI ... if you happen to be on Linux it might be a goer with some of the scanning systems. Vuescan may still drive it

wouldn't bother myself ... YMMV
