Nikon AI-S Lens Repair

I'm looking for recommendations on a good all-around repair shop. Currently, I have a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 Micro with very stiff focus that I'd like to have cleaned and lubricated (or whatever it needs). I also have a few old cameras of various models that I'd like to have miscellaneous repairs done to. For instance, a Zeiss Ikonta 522/24 with a stuck shutter.

I've used specific experts for Rolleiflex, Leica, and Yashica but don't have experience with anyone who works on a little of everything. Thanks.

Hi Doug of Franklin TN in the US of A. This is a long way from you but I had Nikkor lens overhaul performed quickly and affordably (albeit a long time ago) by Steve’s Camera Repair of Culver City, CA. Honesty, though, any decent camera repair shop should be able to competently overhaul a lens.

That's a known common issue with the 55mm 2.8 micro. There are instructions out there to do it yourself, if you are game and have a few tools. Repair costs *might* be more than a replacement lens with lubricated helicoid, etc.

Thanks all, and I appreciate the DIY repair link. I don't trust myself to dive into a nice lens... maybe an old beater. I sent a note to Michael Zacks (advertises here) and will likely give him a try.
