Hello, I'm trying to clean fungus from this lens, but I'm stuck on the 2nd front element. Can't separate the two glasses... can anyone help?

At about 8:30 in the video, he shows the holes on the retaining ring and speculates that the threaded ring is locked on the assembly with thread lock.

I have watched many of his videos and seen him in the past dribble a drop or two of acetone in each hole, wait a few minutes and then try to unscrew the retaining ring on other similar lens assemblies. Sometimes, he had to do it several times before the thread lock dissolved enough to unscrew the ring. He didn't do it on this particular video, apparently because he didn't see a need to clean this group internally.

Be careful with acetone on a lens with plastic parts; you don't want to let it go everywhere and melt other components.

I advise you watch a few of his videos and note his precautionary measures to mark where lens elements sit, how to exactly replace the ring by observing where the threads detach when unscrewing the lens and other tricks of the trade.
