Hey guys,

i stopped by a yard sale yesterday Saturday. And saw that there was a vintage Nikkor 1.4 lens on the table. He wanted 50.00. Was that a good deal. I was thinking of useing it on my FE.

This is like saying "I stopped by the car dealership and they had a used 4 cylinder for $2000...good deal?"

Assuming that the lens is the 50/1.4 and in good condition, $50 is a good deal.

In decent shape, it could be. With fungus, oily blades, scratches and a tight focusing ring, perhaps not. I got mine, an old AI, which is beaten to heck on the outside but perfectly working in all ways and no scratches or fungus, for $10. But that was VERY lucky.

What's a " good deal" depends if you're buying or selling, but to me at $50 if the lens is in useable condition the seller is robbing himself.

Do you mean by vintage pre-ai? If it is pre-ai, it will slow you down if you shoot your FE on A. If it was actually Ai or AIs then I would say that's a fair price for a clean example.

Hey guys, it had silver rings on it. So I'm thinking 60's?
