Night Vision scope ATN Viper. I used this for development by inspection and it worked great. Tested and it works also the IR source. Here is a link to the product:
Price is $125 or BO plus shipping to your location. I will only ship to US. Includes an IR light source.

Would something like this help in loading film onto reels?

I ask as I have lost feeling on my hands, I feel pressure, but unless I grip things reasonably hard I cannot feel light things, like film. This is leading to increasing difficulties loading roll and sheet film and I'm sort of running on muscle memory, if you know what I mean.

I have toy IR goggles, Jakks Pacific, SpyNet. OMG I can load anything. My fingers have lost sense of touch. These are a lifesaver. Everything I've seen only uses a single IR camera so no depth perception, but you get used to it.

One aspect of these goggles that you may want to pay attention to is magnification ratio. I tried a couple of different makes with, IIRC, 2x - 3x magnification and I found it difficult to see things at the end of my arms length. Perhaps, I just have short arms but I found 1x to be perfect for me.

@Rick A, I've never used mine with IR film, but given that these units use IR wavelengths of light to see in the dark, I can't imagine that they wouldn't fog IR films.

This is a important point. Very narrow field of vision. My unit allows focusing up close this is a thing too. I have not tried with IR film, but no issues with normal color and black and white.

I used to use it all the time for developing by inspection. It worked fine on all films except on T-Max films. All normal and Ilford Delta films worked with it. I just could not gauge the development accurately when using T0-Max films

I'll take it if it's still available, if you're OK with the caveat that I'd be unable to pay until Monday (my paycheck has been delayed)

Would these fog IR film?
Not necessarily. The sensitivity of current IR films only extends to about 750-800nm, and they're fairly slow.

As long as your IR illumination is deeper into the IR than, say, 850nm or so, I think there's a good chance you'd be fine, especially if IR illumination is used only briefly. Since this is an image intensifier, which amplifies available light, you could probably get away with very low levels of IR illumination.

I have an AN-PAS/6 IR viewer, which simply converts IR to visible, without amplification, and the single 940nm LED from a TV remote will clearly illuminate a few feet in front of the unit. I've got a few rolls of IR400 coming next week - I'm going to test if this LED has any effect on it.

My unit allows magnification of the view, too, but I've found anything other than 1x difficult to work with. But, hey, that's just me.

Would love something like this to help roll 120/220 film. Sadly, It’s a bit out of my price range. I do hope to get something like this at some point though!

But it didn't fog them, right?

It did not fog the T-Max but I could not accurately judge the density. It was kind of easy with the other types of films

Price drop: $99 or BO. I had a buyer for this but he never paid. I need to clean out my darkroom equipment so this has to go.
