Would something like this help in loading film onto reels?
I ask as I have lost feeling on my hands, I feel pressure, but unless I grip things reasonably hard I cannot feel light things, like film. This is leading to increasing difficulties loading roll and sheet film and I'm sort of running on muscle memory, if you know what I mean.
One aspect of these goggles that you may want to pay attention to is magnification ratio. I tried a couple of different makes with, IIRC, 2x - 3x magnification and I found it difficult to see things at the end of my arms length. Perhaps, I just have short arms but I found 1x to be perfect for me.
@Rick A, I've never used mine with IR film, but given that these units use IR wavelengths of light to see in the dark, I can't imagine that they wouldn't fog IR films.
Not necessarily. The sensitivity of current IR films only extends to about 750-800nm, and they're fairly slow.Would these fog IR film?
This is a important point. Very narrow field of vision. My unit allows focusing up close this is a thing too. I have not tried with IR film, but no issues with normal color and black and white.
I used to use it all the time for developing by inspection. It worked fine on all films except on T-Max films. All normal and Ilford Delta films worked with it. I just could not gauge the development accurately when using T0-Max films
