Hi Suzanne,
There is still time for that trip.
I miss the old APUG family and our chats very much. I can’t quite believe I first joined way back in 2004.
Sean, you built not only an incredible photography resource here, but also a very special community. Thank you for all your efforts and commitment over the decades, and thank you also to the wonderful moderators who helped keep it going.
I still shoot film, although I’ve never been entirely comfortable in the public online realm. I still treasure the postcard prints from our old exchanges, and Les McLean’s and Suzanne’s books take pride of place on my heaving photography bookcases.
Photography was always expensive, but the cost of analogue photography these days can be even more limiting. In some ways, though, that makes it feel all the more considered and special. Shooting film now feels even more like a real treat, and I love spending time poring over old archived negatives. There is something magical about time and old negatives — images that barely received a second glance years ago suddenly feel alive.
To those from our old APUG family (through thick and thin) who are still here, and to those who sadly are no longer with us, I’m sending warm wishes, good vibes, and beautiful light.
