Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I am based in the north of the UK and have been interested in photography for about 6 years now. I started a degree in fine art photography about 5 years ago but only complete 2 years of the 3 year course. I am about to embark on a distance learning course which will allow me to complete the unfinished degree and so my interest in photography has surged again!
My photographic approach is very much fine art led and inspired by contemporary theory and discourse around the subject. The technical areas of the medium are where my weakness lie and this is why I use photography forums because there is so much that can be learnt from others and it is often quicker and easier and more interesting and fun to learn this way rather than from a book.
I use both digital and film and tend to swing between the two, reverting back to film when I start to miss the hands on tangible aspects of film based photography. I love to buy and use old cameras purchased from junk/charity shops etc too.
I look forward to engaging in photographic conversation over this forum but must add, that because of my limited technical knowledge I will be more involved in asking the questions and taking advice than offering it!
