Just registered after being diverted this way from another forum (www.practicalphotography.co.uk) as was looking for somehwere that wasn't digitally biased.

I have just really got into the joy of photography after years of just pointing and clicking. I have digital equipment but really wanted to learn properly using film to force myself to get out of the bad habit of not taking enough time over my shots. I've managed to pick up a half decent 35mm SLR and am also in the process of getting my grandads old Exakta camera restored to working order.

Hopefully I'll get to speak to more of you soon and look forward to bugging you all for useful bits of information.

All the best

Olly

Welcome to APUG. I used to subscribe to PP but cancelled when they went overly digital. You will find what you need here. Welcome to the world of analog photography.

It's great to find that you're not the only one who thinks film is great, huh? Welcome to the best site around!

Welcome to APUG! You'll like it here!

Welcome from Middle England Olly. I lived in Woking up to about 5 years ago, and was a member of the Woking PS. Great group of snapers, and very helpful. Enjoy the forum.

Welcome Olly from the other side of the world - Hawaii!! This is one place you will really enjoy, and you won't have to worry about being based for shooting film.

Analog? oh yeah, this IS the right place to visit, better yet, to stay.

Welcome Olly from Brooklyn, NYC

Sounds familiar, in August I returned to film, I now have a cheap Lubitel TLR, another TLR on order, an old 620 for a bit of fun, film scanner, enlarger for MF and 35 mm B&W work. I am considering the upgrade of scanner to cope with 6 x 6 negs, buying a processor for colour work..... . Total outlay is still less than the cost of a mid price DSLR and lens but , you have been warned.
Just wait till the members here start telling you about LF cameras

WELCOME ! to the best photo site around.
