Afternoon. New on here and I have a couple of questions for all of you who have built your cameras.
I'm working on a design for a 16x20 ULF right now and hope to get started on the building process about the middle of next month. I'm basing the design off my 8x10 Korona, with some extra beef-up where I've found the 8x10 in need. I plan to build 2 backs, initially, the 16x20 and a 12x15. Possibly later adding an 8x20 and a 14x17.
First and foremost, I'd be interested in knowing any suppliers for the brass hardware and rack and pinion movements I'm going to need. I'm just not set up to machine the parts I need and I can't find anyone local who'd do it without charging me more than what I'd have to pay Ron Wisner for one of his.
Also if anyone who has a Korona might have any suggestions in regard to what they feel might be improved on, those would be welcome.
And before anyone dare ask: I have two reasons for building that size. (1) I like the size. (2) Can't afford a complete darkroom with enlarger so contacts are the way to go for me. (3)...I just like the attention I get from folks when I pull out the "big guns".....
Anyways, If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
