New55 still alive?

I really hope they can come up with something viable at a non-ridiculous price. The original product was too variable in output quality, and at $15/exposure, I could shoot my 14x17 for the same money. Obviously they're two very different animals, but if I'm going to spend that much, I'd much rather spend it on something that I KNOW I can use and get consistent results out of.
