Quite pleases with a recent purchase for the Zeiss 35 f2.8 C Biogon lens. Due to other conditions I couldn't get downtown to do some street shooting I had planned but chomping at the bits to tr the lens out so, I started looking around the house for things to shoot. While none will win the Pulitzer prize it did show me just how good this lens is. I'm not at all displeased with it and it seems to be everything I had read about in many reviews.

Here's a few pics I took with it sans yellow filter. Film was FP-4 in Rodinal 1:75.

Goodness, Colonel. 'Sure hope you don't post the sharp images. My eyes will need bandaids. No wonder you're pleased.

It looks most promising, doesn't it? Normally, I don't care for color but may have to run a roll of Provia through it to see how the color saturation looks.

Now, when you have a blurry picture occur, you can't blame your optics! Enjoy! Did you get the pricey lens hood with it? If not, there are look-alike versions from China. I have one Zeiss and one of the cheapies on my 35 and 50 Planars. They are functionally equal for me. just took a quick snap of mine with the Chinese hood. There's also a thin filter in place that's not obvious in the picture.

The pricey hood did not come with it but I ordered it...sorry I did because it blocks the lower right half of the screen a good bit.

If you can't produce good pictures now David, you have nothing to blame

That made me go look through mine again... Also, sorry for the error but when I picked it up just now, I realized that the photo I attached before was of the Zeiss shade and not the other. They look alike and I had recalled the 35 having the Chinese version and didn't notice when I took the quick picture... I also realize that I've been looking past the shade intrusion and hadn't been thinking about that from familiarization. Now that you brought it up, I'll have a new distraction! Seriously though, I think one becomes so subject oriented in the taking situation that looking past the shade as it's hollowed there and you somewhat look through it that it tends to disappear. I'm old (65 next week!) and have been using RF's of every ilk for so long that I likely filter out distractions like this and guess that you will be the same in short order.
