Hi there,

I'm from the South East UK, I've been shooting and developing film for a while, but not much darkroom experience so far. I am planning a darkroom in my bathroom (although meeting resistance from my other half!). A friend has given me his LPL 7700 enlarger. Any hints or tips much appreciated.

I mostly use Pentax cameras - I have a Super-A and a Spotmatic. Also a Yashica 24, which I am hoping to use more. I am stocking with Ilford FP4 and Ilfosol 3 at the moment, until I get the hang of things. Likewise, Ilford's Multigrade products. All suggestions gratefully received.

For my flickr - lots of digital too.

Welcome to APUG.

ps. An quick search in APUG is rewarding. Try to keep your questions and thread headers specific and you would get lots of response. Add your location to your avatar place and it helps a lot. If you do what I say , you would get your free manual and film , paper and developer specific papers as responses or at your email.
Stick to the forum , you will get enourmous knowledge. I liked your BW images more. FP4 is an excellent film and people get it developed with pyro developers and get excellent results. IMHO digital is softer than film. If you create the taste with digital cameras , your paper prints drops faraway. Pentax is excellent and you dont need another camera. Some swear they could not find difference with Leica .

Change the lamp on a regular basis - They are generally rated for 50 hours of use and then the quality of light slowly degrades.
Get yourself a box or three of vinyl gloves so that you don't have to dip your fingers in the trays of chemicals.

Finally, have fun doing what you do.
