Great, they invented LCD again.

I don't see a principal obstacle for use in larger lenses other than any affects on image ouality the non-active diaphragms could have.

These inventions makes me think that researchers were really idiot. Agx , lcds are not cheap and I cant install to a 1928 camera , newer ones are not interesting also and lcd installed large format lens would sell 40 years later when the old ones crossed the entire world 50 times on ebay and slaved to idiots and been destroyed like all these Leicas.

These are no LCD's though in function they are similar.

dont worry , no one will give it to you cheap on new large format lens.

How about an LCD type Packard shutter for LF lenses?

Go , patent in US and search for an investor if you all together can find a producer. You can not find a producer unless it would sell 10000 units a day.

This would be nice to insert into a waterhouse-slot, rather than making a whole lot of tabs that inevitably get lost.
Given that it's LCD technology (or even if it's not, whatever it is), changing the colour and/or density of the centre-hole would be nice too, that Apo-Ronar of mine doesn't easily take coloured filters...

I've seen a Canon patent for this type of thing in 135-sized lenses too, so it's not just limited to phones.

If it is for photographer budget, Color LCD would be thicker, it must be for strenght, limits the resolution, flares and it is used at large format ccds at satellites to get hyperspectral pictures.
