brownie box camera, wide open, dev for 15 seconds , dev 1-3 wash then fix for 5+ minutes washed. first image 2 seconds, 4seconds, 6seconds.

any ideas of what I am doing wrong. one thing i wonder is I have been looking at portraits that are on black back grounds. when i see this it does not look so great to me. Maybe collodion looks better on a simple image Do I need to shoot for this medial? I was just trying it out so any advice or tips would be great. the picture is with my iPhone I am not sure what the best way to copy the image would be. it has more contrast in the photo then in person.

I don't understand the develop for 15 seconds. What film and developer are you using? Most developing times run more like 7-15 minutes. Need more information.
