Hello, I've recently relocated to the Denver area and am interested in meeting other like minded photogs either thru clubs or group shoots. Also I would be interested in any photo related job openings.
P.S. I visited the Camera Obscura Gallery the other day...way cool!!

While I don't live in Colorado any longer, I second your experience of Camera Obscura Gallery. Is Hal Gould still around?

There are others here who live in the Denver area. I am sure they will chime in.

Welcome aboard.

Hmm, I'm surprised Paul Sorensen hasn't responded yet . . . check out the Denver Darkroom
I guess I am being a slacker as per usual Gabe. And with all the things I do for you...

Welcome! I manage a photography school and community darkroom in Denver. Gabe is one of our volunteers and a member of our board of trustees. We certainly also serve as a community of photographers, but not exactly the same as a photo club or the like since our primary business is teaching formal classes. We hosted a get together of APUG folks a while back and are certainly happy to do so again, if there is interest.

Yes, the Camera Obscura gallery is amazing. Hal is still running it from what I know.

Oh, and one more thing, we will be having a gallery show at Qube opening on Friday September 1st at 6pm. Qube is at 1247 Santa Fe in Denver and the opening will be a part of the Santa Fe Artwalk. A bunch of our folks will be there and are in the exhibit, including Gabe, who got three pieces in. (A word of warning for the sensitive: Some images in the exhibit are digital)

Welcome to Denver

Welcome: Give me a call sometime and we can talk. I live in SE Denver and last year finished a complete teaching, finishing, and the two enlarger darkroom in my basement. My Denver phone is (303) 337-1000 any time before 9:0 PM when I take my Scottie out for an hours evening walk.

Thanks Guys,

It's good to see an active community. I'll definitely stop by Qube friday night for the art walk. I was on Santa Fe yesterday checking out the local arts district scene.

It will be three to four months before I am able to get my darkroom up and running so its good to see some possibilities, if I get into a pinch and need darkroom time.

Dave, I also participate is numerous festivals. Looks like there is a decent number of them in the Denver and surrounding areas.

Thanks again for the replies and I look forward to meeting all of you.

Cheers,
Jeff

An art community in the 1200 block of Santa Fe??? My, things have changed since I lived there. I lived in and around Denver for 40 odd years. It was quite a place in the '50s.

The 1200 block is the north end of the art walk, it is mostly in the area from 6th to 10th. It has changed a great deal since I moved here about 17 years ago, I can only imagine how much it has changed in 40 years.
