thumbs up!Good news received directly from our friends at “New” Tetenal: the last paperwork was given its stamps of approval, and the company was officially registered last Friday! Having shaken off old ways of doing business and unprofitable divisions within the company, the new version of Tetenal, which we have learned will keep its old logo and name, has taken shape at a remarkable pace. Investors were found, certificates and permissions awarded, and last Friday, the new incarnation of Tetenal became an officially registered company, ready to do business. They plan to make an official announcement tomorrow. In the meanwhile, the analog community can rest assured that their E6 3- and 7-baths, C41, ECN2 and RA4 chemicals will be available without any production or delivery gaps.

PhotoKlassik International will be telling the entire story along with further developments (pun intended) in its issue II/2019, which is planned to be released around May 1st.
Thats because they were obliged to be silent as an OEM manufacturer.
You could find nearly all major competitors bottles and packages in the Tetenal warehouse.
99% if these "effervescent" tablets contain an acid and baking soda, especially the ones you use to make some sort of lemonade or medicine. When acid drives pH below 6, the baking soda gives up Carbon Dioxide gas, and this gas creates these fine bubbles. These bubbles provide decent agitation to dissolve the other compounds in the tablet, that's why people would potentially want them in developer tablets. However, baking soda won't give up Carbon Dioxide at pH 8-12, where typical photographic developers work, and the unknown amount of Carbon Dioxide remaining in the liquid will create some uncertainty about final pH, another no no in photographic development.
We'll see what Tetenal can come up with in future, but do hold on to your other developers for now ...
But aside of the OP hardly anyone wants this "sparkling" effect, not even speaking of the chemical feasability.
We had in our workshop in december all departments at Tetenal together. There were all chemists and also those guys who invented the 3 Bath process. There is a lot possible. This would make it easier for traders to keep stock, and would take the gambling out of E6-development in the small batches in home development which are (not least) dictated by the cost of slide film.
I want Tetenal to supply a reusable bottle cap for their square 1 liter bottles. These bottles are too nice to throw awayWe had in our workshop in december all departments at Tetenal together. There were all chemists and also those guys who invented the 3 Bath process. There is a lot possible.
And a lot of positive changings will happen. Everybody during this time took the situation as achance to question everything and I think we all found some very interesting aproaches based on traditional products but also on innovation.
The employees invested in their former company. Most of them could have found easily another job cuase their skills are asked on the job market. The people there are highly motivated and they know what they are doing. The old ballasts are gone now. The new managment are those who've invested cause they saw the oppertunity in doing those things they could not do at "old Tetenal".
I understand that the product needs to be foil sealed from the factory, the supplied cap has cardboard liner. No good for storage.
Cool, now I see what you mean. Two little plastic blades to cut the foil.At least if you look closely ( at least on the Ilford Fixer and Kodak HC-110. ) They have a provision that if you invert the cap and turn it, the cap will cut the foil. only once did I see anything about this and it was in an IKEA like drawing.
for their 5l jugs that won't leak!!!I want Tetenal to supply a cap
The cardboard liner in the cap fails. The bottle closures are terrible.for their 5l jugs that won't leak!!!
The current ones are a nightmare!! Take your 5l jug of fixer, shake it to stir the content of the jug and you'll end with little drops of fixer all over the room and all over your clothes.

The insolvency of Tetenal caused a lot of interruptions in the supply chains, on several levels and in different supply chains. Fortunately Tetenal is back as 'New Tetenal' - with 100% focus on photo chemistry - and they are producing again. But their new production is increasing slowly - step-by-step - and is not yet on the former (before insolvency) level. But their efforts are focussed on getting to former volumes during the next months.
What does effervescent mean?
What's going on at Tetenal? I see that the E6 2.5 L kits are back ordered at Freestyle in the US and Fotoimpex in Germany. I hope all is well? ? ?
+1What about B&W chemicals? But good news anyway.
Sirius Glass, I hope you were not being "realistic". Surely, this group, me included, will find plenty to "bitch" about regarding "any" subject in this "new" year.........Regards!GreatNow we have nothing to bitch about!
And I think that I have detected some already, regarding "closures of bottles", (needed, I am sure).......Regards (again)Sirius Glass, I hope you were not being "realistic". This is good news. I'm currently using Fuji E6, before my current batch of Fuji arrived, I had a partial Fuji kit, leftovers. The Fuji 1st developer was no good, crystals. I had a 4 year old bottle of the Tetenal 1st developer, I had split it from the 5 liter kit. I used the old Tetenal 1st developer with the Fuji (the other 6 baths ) worked great.I just spoke with Freestyle. They show Tetenal E6 kits with availability on Jan 24. The rep said the removal of the E6 kit listing from their website was a mistake that she would follow up on. It seems that demand for the kit is higher than Tetenal anticipated.
In the meantime, I ordered the small Arista kit and will give that try.
On another topic... Yes, the cardboard seals on the bottles are absolutely worthless! Too bad, they are nice bottles. And the use of a separate, cardboard disk instead of a molded conical lip in the cap makes absolutely no sense. Not only does it not serve the purpose of a seal, it actually costs more to produce. I assumed it was some weird, German cultural thing. But the last Ilford chemicals I bought were the same way.
