Instead of a spiral winding it employs a helical winding as in the early days of film processing and as proposed as DIY project in the past.

It takes 15m and can either be rotated on a included wheel stand or inserted into a Jobo processor that takes drums.

I shoot regular-8 and Minox. I designed a Minox tube similar to that to fit inside a 1500 tank. It would be nice to see a professionally made tube like that for Minox. It would work better than the special Jobo Minox 1500 reels I have.

I took a look at this thread because I am wanting to develop 16mm film. A very, very low priority.

@ic-racer: I know little about Minox, but don't most adjustable plastic developing reels have a 16mm setting?

Yes, but Minox film is 9.2 mm wide.

One has to modify a reel. Or build something like that new Jobo drum.
Jobo once offered a displacer to put into a partially loaded tank to reduce fluid volume. One can wind Minox film onto these too.

I have the special Jobo 16mm reels and I use them for 16mm still cameras (18 exposures on about 2 feet of film) and they work fantastic. The Minox film is, around 9mm. The 9mm Jobo Minox reels I have are custom made from the 35mm reels but if the emulsion gets close to the spiral there is under-development in that area.

OK, sorry, I thought they used 16mm film. Didn't someone? There should be a logical reason that my adjustable reels have a 16mm setting. And the 5 foot or so capacity doesn't make sense for any 16mm movie loads.

After the 9mm Minox a lot of 16mm cameras came out. Quite known are the Minoltas. There also was a 16mm system-camera: The italian Gami. Finally the market was taken over by 16mm type 110 cameras. With the Agfamatics being grown-up offsprings of the Minox to close the circle...
