Yes, I kept meaning to mention that. It defaults to 'most viewed', which doesn't make any sence if you are viewing the last day or 7 days to see what's new...

Being able to permanently set 'most recent' would be what's needed...

It's very odd, I can't find a setting to adjust this so have contacted the software support folks..

I was up North this weekend, did not see a Fox , but I did sit by the Fire. Is that what you mean.

I really do not like the classifides on the side of the screen.
 
The more I think of it, the less I like the sidebar, though I do like having the forums adjust to the screen width. Maybe move "recent articles and chem recipes" to the front page instead of the sidebar, since they don't change so often, and maybe "latest gallery photo" also on the front page, and just go back to the old classifieds system, or some not-too-modified version where ads are integrated into the forums like they used to be, and then put a top-level link on the tab bar to the gallery.
 
I'm totally open to changing things, but people will need to be patient because it can't happen over night. It's back to the day job for me tomorrow, my few weeks off flew by
 
I have got used to the classifeds, latest photo upload etc. being visible. Maybe if they were moved to the right of the page it would feel less unbalanced?

NO, Now damnit, now. I want it now, now, now, now. To hell with the paying job.

SOrry you have to go back. My week off ends tomorrow. Oh well got some way good shots during that time and hope to get more tomorrow. I hope your time off was just as productive.
 
fyi- I'll be putting in a style chooser (a little dropdown menu in the bottom footer) that will give members the option to choose between three site styles: "no sidebar", "right sidebar", "left sidebar"

That should be helpful to some folks..

That would be great. I pretty much always turn off sidebars, if I can.
 
I am having same problem as lee was --chatroom will not work for me (got something against Texans, honey??! ;-)

Hi, the chatroom was recently locked to subscribers. I did not do this in the past because I did not know how, but I recently figured out how to control the access. It does two things, gives the subscriber base a little added feature, and keeps anonymous strangers from accessing the room..
 
I subscribed this week--but it is not showing me as doing so.

Same here... I'm glad APUG came back on-line, but I can't access my web site on the APUG server nor my email accounts.
 
Funny, how much we depend on the site...I was starting to have some sever withdrawl..plus I felt like I was out of touch with the family.

Man, glad to see everything back. Thanks for getting us back up Sean.
