1) Start processing C-41. The kit is on order form CatLabs and should arrive some time in the next week or 2.

2) Set up in the bathroom and start printing B&W. This will likely have to wait until 2015 because of the C-41.

Honestly there's no rhyme or reason or system to it. It's just a fat 3x5 notebook that I write in with a pencil. To keep track of the ideas means I have to flip back through it and read what I've written. Occasionally, I'll cull through it and make new summary lists to consolidate and remove things I've already done.

Here are three things that have "evolved" in it over time that I really like:
  1. A small list of "current" themes or styles or kinds of subjects. I keep these in the back of my mind when I'm out or driving around. Now APUG MSA topic is added to these!
  2. Pullouts near my house with great views, and what direction they view, so if the sky is awesome in a particular direction, I can quickly choose a good close-by place to make a photo.
  3. A "to get" list, which is where I write down potential photos I see or think of. This list has gotten long, so I never have any lack of ideas. Some of these are exciting but would require just the perfect light...
I don't want to get to rigid or mechanical about my hobby, and the "to get" list is more like a thing to fall back on if I'm uninspired. Mostly I just carry a camera wherever I've chosen to walk and don't worry about it if I don't end up using it.

Ah right! I use the ideas book for everything , not just photography!
My to get list is all messed up, should get it consolidated!

I'm doing that too-often with guidance from the wizard Glenfiddich and his friend Bruachcladdich:whistling:

I'm thinking of building a new one!:D

Because I've moved-though as the old one's in an outbuilding at my sister's place I can still carry on using it when I visit:D

I just hope to get some time to print! Then we shall see. I have about eight unfinished projects that I'd like to tackle, but two are perpetual, so that leaves six. I need to get my act together and get them done.

Having sold our house we are in temporary accommodation in a forest adjacent to a lake, a perfect locality for a project. Presently I'm looking at opportunities (in colour) and will fetch the MF camera soon for the real stuff. Once we move of course the new darkroom will take priority on my personal list, however is low on the overall list, then as Thomas said to find time to print!

I'm finally going to print my portfolio of ruins and rock art in PT/PD and Ziatype this year. Hoping to get about 100 8x10s out of it. From there, I have a smaller series of 4x5 from around the Canyonlands region that I am planning to do black carbon onto brass.

Contact Sheets/Printing some 17 rolls from last year's Italy trip.

Up until about 3 months ago I had dedicated Tuesday nights for the darkroom. Since then I've only been up there a hand full of times. After Christmas I WILL be back in the darkroom every Tuesday. Also in Denton Texas there is an art gallery that rotates art every two months. I'm going to enter three pictures for the next round.

Here's another idea: Stop being online so much, so I can be in the real world making prints instead.

first try harder to find the time to go back to the darkroom and print;

second go back to this Tiffanys Falls.jpg waterfall that I shot this spring and hope to take the same picture while everything is frozen.

I would like to try and write an update to Anchell and Troop. I am working with Bill and a few others on ideas for it.

I am working, also with others, on a new developer that embodies the latest (and last) work by EK on B&W developers.

I am also collecting material for a second volume of my Emulsion Making Coating and Testing. This one would be more advanced.

Comments to me would be appreciated.

That sounds good-looking forward to hearing more about it.

Our local art gallery will be shutting down for the holidays soon; so next week I intend to go in (I use their darkroom) and make a bunch of prints on mat & satin papers to practice hand colouring.
