Or you could just go to kosmofotos site where he has a quote from Harmon.
Mark Harmon is talking about Ilford?
It is Harman.
And this thread doesn't add anything new to the old, closed thread.
So I'm combining the two, and closing the result.

FYI - Harmon Technology, Ilford announced prices increases effective March 14th.
Where is this announcement? I had a look at the IlfordPhoto website just now i.e. Monday afternoon 7th March and could not find anything

Thanks

Quote:
A Harman spokesperson told Kosmo Foto the increases were caused by supply and production issues caused by the Covid pandemic.

“The decision to implement price increases is never one we take lightly but is a necessity directly resulting from rapidly increasing inflation levels, global supply chain challenges, increased transport costs and other cost increases across all aspects of the business,” he said.

“We know film photographers are tired and perhaps sceptical of hearing these messages, particularly on top of the financial pressures we all face with the rising cost of living. Our goal as a business is to make film photography and printing as accessible as possible for everyone and we appreciate cost increases make that a challenge. Rest assured we have and will always do whatever we can to keep prices as low as possible.”

As reflected in the article Don posted, the price increase was announced in a communication from Ilford to its dealers, not in a press release from Ilford to the general public. If you have a local dealer who sells Ilford products, you might want to give them a ring for further details. A price increase certainly comes as no surprise to me.

We had a thread started on this topic last Friday, even in this same forum. It had been closed due to "this thread doesn't add anything new to the old".

Why to start yet another thread on this?

The answer is a bit obvious. Jvo didn't see the previous thread so posted this one. Pentaxuser and Sal didn't see the previous thread, so posted here. I didn't see the previous thread, so looked up the announcement.

Most people don't see every post but do feel free to comment on what they see. That's a forum, right?

Oops, looks like I missed closing this thread when I intended to - threads combined and then re-closed.

And to pentaxuser and others, I would be surprised if you ever see a price increase announcement on a manufacturer's website ever again, except for those manufacturers who sell direct to customers (e.g. Eastman Kodak for movie film).

I understand, but typically industry news provoke multiple threads. So with such topics it is a good idea to have a look if there not already has been a thread started. It save moderators from merging threads.

I've re-combined two threads on this, and then closed both - I hope correctly this time.
