Don't know what to think about this one.
My Nikkor-S 58/1.4, wide open, has bokeh as beautiful (or even better) than the pictures in the example, is far easier to use, more compact, and I can bet that at f8 it kicks the Petzval lens in the sharpness and resolution department.
"Defocus control" lenses have existed for years, i wonder what's so revolutionary on the lens.
Regarding the 85mm lens, the Canon EF 85/1.8 is a far better buy. An optically perfect lens with beautiful bokeh.
Oh well, at least Lomo helps film stay alive.
