Ouch!! That's more $$ than I expected it to be...
Most people regard the V700/V750 as being a very good scanner, but in practice, only capable of about 2400 DPI of real resolution. If the optical quality of the Plustek can achieve a true 3200 DPI, coupled with (presumably) autofocus ability, and decent D-Max (with low noise) then it is a significant step up from the flatbeds, albeit at a significant price premium.

Are you talking about the brick-shaped Plustek 7200-7600 series? Those do only 35mm you know. I've read a number of reviews on them. Just go to Amazon -- there are tons there. Generally, it is well received. It's worth noting, though, if you want to scan at the max non-interpolated dpi setting -- 7200 - 7600, I'm supposing -- it takes about 4 minutes per slide or negative.
