New New55 Kickstarter project!

Hi,

I haven't seen a post about it. New55 started a new Kickstarter campaign to perfect the New55 PN film. With a succesfull campaign the film will become more reliable with better prints. Also money is needed to make sure New55 will get a steady supply of pods. So please back this campaign or share it with everybody in your contact lists:

I backed it too. Nominally. Very small amount, but I want to see them succeed. That said, I haven't been too impressed with what they've delivered thus far. But then again, 4x5 is my least favorite format.

It seems that New55 is shutting down judging by recent Facebook posts. Sad to see, but the product was never as good as the price demanded it to be so I can't say it's unexpected.

They're being somewhat provocative with their recent ambiguous posts and updates, but they haven't officially announced that they're shutting down that I can find.

The Facebook post from last night inviting us to buy the last New55 film, and which spawned a lot of speculative comments, is mysteriously gone today.

I don't follow them on Facebook, so I don't know the drama as it may have played out there, but they've canceled their Kickstarter. Part of the Kickstarter relied on them being able to continue to get the pods for the chemicals and I guess the 20x24 project is no longer going to supply them? I know there's something going on behind the scenes with that, though I don't know exactly what. According to the update on the Kickstarter project, they were going to start making the most recent version of New55 again with the remaining pods they have.
I don't know it means the whole thing is shutting down, but the Kickstarter and upgrade of New55 is shutting down as far as I know.
