I just signed up to this site yesterday and I'm really enjoying it already. I'm a little weary of the digital content that's infiltrating the other sites, because I don't do any digital and don't intend to for the forseeable future.

I shoot mostly 35mm - autofocus Nikons (F100, F90x, F90) and manual focus Nikons, too (FEx3, FM2n, Nikkormat FT3). I find myself using the manual gear at least as much as the autofocus stuff. I also have a nice collection of Soviet-made RF cameras (Fed 2b, 3a, 3b, 5c; Zorki 4, 4K) and a Canon ML35AF point-and-shoot with a 40/1.9 lens. I also have a Minolta Autocord CdS II 6x6 TLR.

I shoot a ton of black and white and develop it all myself (favourite films: Ilford Delta 100, Pan-F Plus, FP-4 Plus, HP-5 Plus; Efke 25, 100) and have a propensity to experiment with every film I can find. I've liked just about every film I've tried; they all have a character that suits some subject or other. I find that I shoot FP-4 Plus the most. I make my own chemistry from scratch much of the time, and my favourite film developers are PMK, Rodinal and XTOL, although I don't home-brew the latter two. I use some D-76 sometimes, too, especially with films I'm experimenting with.

In colour I usually shoot E-6 and prefer Fuji Velvia 100F and Kodak Ektachrome E100VS. I do a little C-41 but not much, usually shooting Fuji Superia 100 & 200.

I'm glad to be aboard!

Welcome Jim... (too lazy to mapquest it) how close are you to Saskatoon? I had a friend there who used to send really really nice postcards from the area. Happy shooting and as they mentioned above, beware the peer pressure to play with big cameras.

Welcome Jim! I visited Regina last year on business (we drove up from Saskatoon). My husband is also from Saskatchewan, though we live in Toronto now.

Welcome to Apug, and Paul is right - you may find yourself exploring LF pretty soon, so consider yourself warned! I had to eat my words.

Welcome Jim! I'm a Stratford boy, but currently exiled to Rochester, NY. Someone has to keep an eye on the Great Yellow Father. Ooops, I haven't done too good a job of keeping them in line. Sigh.

I'm 260 km (about 150 miles) south-southeast of Saskatoon. It's a 2 1/4 hour drive away if you live where I do, close to the exit to Highway 11.

Thanks for the warm words. I'll be poking around Toronto in a couple of weeks, so wish me luck. I am very envious of your collection of photo stores there...
