The way I get it, he is going to phone it in from California. I need a job like that. They are only paying a million bucks, what do they expect these days? I know I am too cynical.

I don't follow this stuff, but isn't the company now called "Kodak" completely out of the film business, it having been spun off to the new entity "Kodak-Alaris"?

So as far as this guy is concerned, he has nothing to do with the film business???
 
Omaha Kodak is still in the film biz the coating and mp division is not part of Alaris.
As for the guy he sounds like Perez 2.0 he comes from silicon valley and yaps about printing. O.k. he has strong ties to the State of New York 1 out of 3 could be worse. I hope he can help Kodak grow especially the film (Motion Picture and coating division) part but since he mostly talks about printing I have my doubts.

Incorrect. Kodak still manufactures the film. Kodak Alaris only sells the stuff. It is a bizarre relationship to be sure.

I spent 37 years in an industry where our corporate leaders were changed every three or four years......although I'd like to say they all looked the same, they really didn't. Each one had their own smirk..........:whistling:

I think he has experience in the internet travel business. Impressive knowledge for leading a bleeding and ailing company like Kodak. I hope hope hope that he can see the light that home printing is not a very strong business to be focused on.

Kodak has represented quality for a long time, and I think that's where they belong. But they need to be more inventive and work on projects that are relevant, in addition to their existing line of products.
 
Bring on the black and white papers Mr Clark- Lets start with Ectalure and get a fibre paper that is sensitive to laser.
 
I wouldn't hold my breath for anything good to come of this, really. seems like another in the line of frigtards like perez (though anyone would be better than that tosser, probably). Why can't they pick someone, preferably internally, that has some history and knowledge of Kodak, and not some finance wanker who lacks the talent and industry knowledge? Clearly he's way overpaid to boot, adding insult to injury.
 
CEO's are chosen according to what college fraternity they belong to - who can potentially throw the best party? Frankly, if most of them simply stayed drunken, they'd do less damage to the companies they pretend to run.

That is no longer the business of Mr. Cark and Kodak.
I assume there are clauses in the contract that Kodak may not start on the field they just sold. The same time b&w paper business would be likely be that small that neither Kodak nor Kodak Alaris would bother anyway.

Perhaps the biggest take-away here is that this thread and the Calumet out-of-business thread, both started yesterday within only five hours and seventeen minutes of each other, currently show 3,420 views for Calumet and only 653 views for the new Kodak CEO who is replacing Antonio Perez.

Given the emotionally epic nature of earlier Kodak threads, I think this may speak volumes about the current residual levels of mindshare and perceived relevance of today's Kodak. At one point posters were at each other's throats over Kodak/Perez and the end-of-the-world. Now hardly a peep.

Maybe it's because many still thought there was a chance to right the ship back then, but no chance now?

I guess that boat has not only already sailed. It sank.

Ken, I think it's because Kodak is no longer what we were talking about. That place has been taken by Kodak Alaris. And there really isn't much coming out of them for us to talk about.
