New Ilford film being Introduced

I think film related, the graphic shows the bottom of a 35mm canister in the upper left, the bottom right is the bottom of a 120 roll and the upper left would be a box of LF film..

According to their Instagram story today, they will be releasing something new on 10-24-19. The teaser shows an outline of 135, 120, a 4x5 sheet and a smaller sheet format. I wonder what it could be, they already have pretty much the entire ISO range covered. I would love to see another color option but I doubt we'll ever see Ilford make a color film...

I must be an old curmudgeon because I HATE WITH A PASSION this kind of Twitter-tease marketing. If an announcement isn’t being made I’d rather hear nothing until the announcement is made.

The guessing and speculation and rumors that result is really annoying.

I can't read it without being a member of Instagram unfortunately. At what time on the West Coast was it announced? Not casting any doubt on you but it seems strange that it should issue such a teasing message with little substance in it and I can find nothing, not even a hint on Ilford's own site

I don't use Ilford film (I do use their fiber-based paper and chemistry, however), but any new film announcement from a major player is considered good news in my book.

Kodak Alaris has been announcing via Facebook only.

Not sure how they can improve on their B/W films... filling a speed gap, perhaps? 50, 100, 400, 3200... Maybe 1600? What I really want is an IR film that is at least 820 sensitised or beyond. SFX is "okay" but...

A true 1600 film. Was neopan 1600 true or just a pushed 800 film?

I used it often when I lived in Japan, and shot it at 800 for "normal"... one stop more than box speed, just like most 400 speed films I use.

This puzzles me. They have everything for 50, 100, 125, 200, 400, 800-1000 (aka 3200) speeds, plus infrared sensitive medium... Pan F50+ can be pulled to EI25 as well. What else can they introduce that will be worth introducing? Film is somewhat niche product nowadays and they surely wouldn't make a niche product WITHIN niche product...

UV sensetive film.

Every film is UV sensitive, colour a bit less.

For highest UV sensivity you need a very special emulsion AND special optics.

It's difficult to see any holes in Ilford's B&W film offerings...and the images do suggest this will be film. If Ilford have said that it's not colour film, then it's presumably a new film or a significant update on one or more of their existing films. FP4++ or Pan-F Super ?.....or HP6 ?
