Would anybody care to respond to my question above. Thanks for the link. I note that the new MG speed at grades 4-5 drop by only 10%(240-220) whereas the old MGIV dropped by 100% ( 200 -100) This was a drop of one stop so Ilford's suggestion to double exposure followed logically. Does the new 10% drop equate to a 10% increase in exposure for grades 4-5 or as near 10% as to make no difference?
Thanks

Thanks Tom. It was the size of the adjustment based on my deductions from the Ilford statement that I am interested in. It might be that at say an exposure of 12 seconds at grade 3 then the difference between no change and 1.2 secs(10% more) might be very marginal i.e. just about noticeable if you have two prints next to each other but not if they are viewed separately with an interval between viewingsI would suspect this means you no longer have to make a significant adjustment.
Guys you might need to seek out the Sunny 16 podcast on your podcast player rather than using their website. I’ve never been to their website but I listen to their podcasts from time to time.Me too. I'm dizzy...
What's a podcast player? Sorry if this sounds like I am making a joke but this is a new one on me. Does it require that I join Sunny 16 and give all sorts of details on myself or can anyone have a listen once they have a podcast player?Guys you might need to seek out the Sunny 16 podcast on your podcast player rather than using their website. Again at the risk of sounding curmudgeonly I take it that the podcast "informs" It is not just 2 people talking a lot but saying little. Sorry but it's just that so many of these things seem take 15 mins to say what is worth about 2 mins of listening time

Thanks from the other side of the world. I had a terrible feeling this might be the caseYou have to use Apple iTunes or something similar (Windows equivalent).
"seem take 15 mins to say what is worth about 2 mins of listening time"
Yeah that about sums it up. I listened to it, gave up after half an hour, and it is over two hour long.
"Jesus, get to the fucking point people", came to mind several times.

Here's a good review of the new MGV paper with comparisons to MGIV and Classic FB. Looks very promising.
This is exactly the reason why I prefer to read an article/webpage/etc. rather than listen to a podcast or watch a youtube instructional video. I can skim to the relevant (to me) points immediately without having to listen to the whole thing. Unfortunately, it seems that 90% of mankind is of the opposite opinion !For almost every pod cast I have listened to, I almost always wish that I could get that time back.
I think with their website, it doesn't show the link to the podcast depending on what device it's on. (I may be wrong about this!) I think it works on my laptop but not my ipad which I use for listening to podcasts in the dakroom.Me too. I'm dizzy...
