Hello Photrios,

I have many interest in photography, except digital. I have been shooting b&w film off and on for 40 years. I like mixing my own developers and have recently ventured into platinum/palladium printing. Love that!

I have taken classes on wet collodion photography, but it isn't well suited for the dry climate here in Arizona. I like using gelatin glass plates better.

I also like fixing old cameras especially old Agfa cameras because everybody hates them (or hates the "dreaded green grease").

looking forward to contributing.

Regards,
Javier

Welcome to Photrio !

Yep, wet collodion is problematic for we desert dwellers. Welcome to our little corner of the inter-webs.

A trick I use to separate stuck Agfa helicals is to first remove as much glass as possible from the helical, put it in the oven at 300F or so, and then it will slowly turn. After it's apart, I soak the two parts in naphtha and scrub the threads with a toothbrush. What's your technique?
