A more accurate description might be that, with the exception of Instax, Eastman Kodak may be the only one who is currently manufacturing colour film.
We are living in times of tremendous disruption. There are many things not happening now that may resume in the future.

I really hope you are right Matt. Very strange coincidences though.

On the upside I think ORWO/Innoviscoat will be making color film. Somebody has been coating the LOMO and Adox stuff.

But this assumes Fujifilm isn't manufacturing any color film. I find this hard to believe.

And ADOX will probably manufacture a new batch of ADOX Color Mission soon.

And OrWo (i know, part of the group where ADOX is) has announced it will manufacture a ECN-2 movie film.

Currently.
There is a lot that isn't currently happening right now in the world of manufacturing.

Our discussion ended so far that it might be a solution Fuji just took for the american market. But this already is pure speculation.
Unless we get some more information from Fuji or reports of places with the rebranded Kodak film appearing, this discussion is at its end I assume.

The problem with Fuji is that being Japanese, they are rarely as open as most Western companies about what it is they are doing. It's not bad or wrong, it's just the Japanese way. We Westerners don't understand that and start imagining scenarios based on things like sightings of the new film in the wild, and on rumours.

the fact that the North American market has kodak-made Fuji branded film is odd. And does suggest that Fuji aren't actually making any C200 or Superia 400 right now. We're all familiar with the recent quote I made from Kodak-Alaris stating Kodak to be "pretty much" the only company making colour film now. But would Kodak know what Fuji's long term intentions are? Beyond any current contract to supply 200 ISO C41 film?

No, you did not miss anything.

-) Adox is not part of a group

-) at the moment it is not clear at all who actually makes up "Orwo"

I stand corrected, thanks.

I love the old 200 Fuji, and hate gold (in 135). I still have 7 rolls of the old one, that I'm saving up for special days!

this sort of deal is quite common. the Company sells the buildings and then rents back the part of the building that they want to use. The Buyer updates and tries ot rent out the rest of the place to other firms. the original owner pockets the sale price.

Yes that is what I understand to be deal and that much was relatively clear. What I couldn't work out was how it affects the production of Fuji film, if at all

I doubt this affects Fuji’s film production at all.

I think this plant just makes single use cameras (possibly with film made in Rochester) and also develops film (and destroys the negatives).
