Thanks for the heads-up Gene. The Bromoil Circle of Great Britain have been working on this for some years, I'm glad they managed to get it to market. Looks like it's a must for my Christmas list.

I must admit that Christmas is such a looooooooong time away; maybe I should buy it for myself?

apparently it takes some time to ship the order (don't know why; maybe they can't find it....) so buying now makes it proberly come around christmas time...

The authors, Maija and Kirk are friends of mine. Gilbert was too until he passed away. I have not seen this book yet, but I gather it contains some of the vintage work of a number of past British masters of bromoil as well as reproductions of contemporary prints by members of the Bromoil Circle of Great Britain. I am a "yank," not a Brit, and am fortunate to be an honorary member of the "Circle." Maija says she included a couple of my prints in the book. I feel honored! Cheers, Gene

I was at the Wolverhampton Camera Fair last Sunday (11th) and the Bromoil Circle have a table/stand there. Their work is absolutely stunning, so much so I bought the book (and a more comprehensive leaflet on how to Bromoil). The book is great with some wondeful reproductions, I was that captivated by the Bromoils I saw I've gone ahead and purchased a kit from Silver Print. I have no doubt you won't be disappointed by the book. Enjoy!.

Gene,

Just got the book out and your work, three entries, are just lovely. I particularly am drawn to 'Man with Guitar' , there's something about the image that just draws you in. Wonderful. I've got some fun but hard work ahead!!

Thanks, John. Maija has a number of my prints. We trade a lot of bromoils! I really don't know which ones she put in the book.

The problem you're going to run into with the Bromoil "Kit" is it includes 10 or so sheets of Kentmere Document Art paper. When you get the hang of this paper and use it up, no more of this paper is available as it has been discontinued - at least temporarily. At that point you may wish to try Kentmere Fineprint VC fine grain matt. When exposing the paper under the enlarger, expose them at least one stop darker than normal.

Good luck!
